What’s Happening at Rutledge Hall!
• Our first fire drill was successful. Students exited quickly and quietly.
• Staff used early release time to learn about updates in the grading program that is used, Power Teacher. All staff also received mandatory yearly training on blood borne pathogens.
• A committee is planning Walk to School Day for October 8. More information will be coming.
• PBIS is working well! Students are following the expectations and enjoying receiving "Rutledge Rewards". Our first celebration is scheduled for next week. We hope all students have earned enough tickets!
• Constitution Day was celebrated with an all-school video. Students hopefully have a better understanding of how our Constitution was written and what it means.
• 3rd graders went to the Botanic Gardens.
Upcoming events:
• Check out the Civil War Encampment at Proesel Park this weekend. There will be hands-on demonstrations. It should be fun and educational.
• PACK Week is next week. We are stressing the importance of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables each day. Pack these colors next week for snack or lunch.
Monday - purple (blueberries, grapes, raisins)
Tuesday - white (bananas, cauliflower, white peaches)
Wednesday - red (strawberries, red peppers, apples)
Thursday - yellow/orange (carrots, apricots, oranges)
Friday - green (celery, pea pods, broccoli, green apples)
• Don't forget that every Monday is an Early Release. Dismissal is at 1:45.
• We need all students to arrive on time every day. Our bell rings at 8:00. The tardy bell is at 8:10. Once the front door closes, students need to be signed in.
• Please check assignment notebooks daily and sign. This lets us know that you are aware of homework and are helping insure it is completed on time.
• A reminder that there is no school on Tuesday, September 30.
• Please check the Rutledge Hall calendar for school events.
• Sunday, September 28, the new Niles Township ELL Parent Center will host an Open House. Please check out the attached flier for more details. We encourage families to seek assistance at the Center. There is much being offered!
