WELCOME TO THIRD GRADE! What an exciting year we have planned for you here at Rutledge Hall. In third grade we do a lot of reading, writing, and math. We also study interesting Science units, like Astronomy. In Social Studies you will learn about the state of Illinois and Chicago. You will also learn how to write in cursive and do cool things on a laptop computer. Best of all you will make new friends and learn from each other. We have mathematicians, scientists, writers, swimmers, singers, and baseball players in our class.

Dear Parents,

What an exciting week we had. Wendella was incredible and I think the kids learned a lot about our great city. Thank you to our chaperones, Mrs. Malina, Mrs. Babcock, Mrs. Vakil, Mrs. Elliott, Mrs. Firozabadi, and Mrs. Sorisho.
Monday we will be visited by the Lincolnwood Library librarian to tell us about their summer reading programs. Tomorrow we will have move-up day. The students are interested in what they will learn about 4th grade.

Dear Parents,

I have many special events to remind you about and also many parents to thank. First of all I would like to thank Elizabeth Guzman for being a GREAT room mom. Thank you for all your help this year. Next, I would like to thank our reading moms, Mrs. Elliott, Mrs. Sorisho, Mrs. Malina, Mrs. Babcock, and Mrs. Guzman. I would also like to thank all of our field trip chaperones.

Dear Parents,

We have been enjoying the Illinois presentations. They are terrific and the students are really learning a lot from each other.

We are very excited about all our end of the year activities. Today we wrote letters to the 2nd graders telling them how cool third grade is. We are also looking forward to our 3rd grade picnic which is at Proesel Park next Friday May 28. We have four official chaperones, but as I told the students everyone is welcome to come by the park at anytime from 9am-2pm.
