Dear Families,

As you already know, Monday, March 22nd is Portfolio Night for the 3rd grade students. This is a wonderful evening for the parents AND the students here at Rutledge Hall to share the work they have completed thus far. Students are supposed to accompany their parents, so that a flourishing discussion can take place in the classroom, regarding the work the child has so graciously completed. I am going to ask that siblings DO NOT join on portfolio night, because this is a night for the students and the parents only.

Dear Families,

As many of you already know, the students at Rutledge Hall will be taking the ISAT tests from Tuesday, March 2nd until Friday, March 5th. This is a state mandated test and is given to all of the 3rd graders in the state of Illinois. As a class, we have been preparing for the reading, the mathematics, and the writing portions of the test. However, there are also a few things that you can do for your child to ensure that they have a successful ISAT experience.

Dear Families,

I want to take this opportunity and say two very big "thank you's" from last week. First and foremost, I would like to say thank you to the PTA for funding the "Science Guy" for the third grade on Tuesday, February 9th. If your child did not inform you of this assembly, I can assure you, it was great! The Science Guy brought along all of the simple machines that we will be studying in Force and Motion for science, and really helped us kick off our unit!!
