The students are off to a great start with their six-trait writing!  During the last couple of weeks, we have been working on trait number one - Ideas.  This trait deals with the writer's main message and all of the details that support it.  The children have been working on adding descriptive words, emotions and their five senses to their writing pieces.  Making sure the students ideas are clear and supported by details is very important.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to the 2009-2010 school year!  I hope that everyone had a great summer.  I can not believe that this is my 15th year at Rutledge Hall.  I am very happy to be back and working with your children.

This year I will be working with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders during both intervetion and writing.  It was wonderful to meet all of my new students last week as I began teaching my groups.  I believe that we will have a busy, but exciting school year.
