Alabama has lived with his dad in the forest for as long as he can remember. After fighting in Vietnam his dad doesn't trust many people and retreats to a life of solitude. Alabama has learned survival skills from his dad and must put them to use when his dad is killed in a bear attack. This is a great adventure story about a young boy who finds himself thrown into the real world after having grown up in the wilderness.
