Room 26 Update!
Submitted by Ms Rainey on Tue, 2008-11-25 14:02.Writing: We continue to go through the writing process to write water cycle stories. Students are doing a great job being descriptive and showing instead of telling as they describe life through the eyes of a water droplet.
Spelling: Please make sure your child is studying his/her spelling list each night for our bi-weekly test.
Science: Land and water continues to be the unit of study in Science. We are learning about the water cycle, erosion, and weathering. Please ask your child to discuss with you the experiments we have been conducting each day. He/she should also practice using the vocabulary words that have been introduced throughout the unit.

Room 26 Update!
Submitted by Ms Rainey on Thu, 2008-08-28 08:44.Dear Families,
Welcome to the world of 4th grade! I am pleased to be your child's teacher for the 2008-2009 school year. We have many exciting things planned for the months ahead. I will give you a brief overview of what to expect but will go into great detail on Curriculum Night.Â
We started off the school year learning about Rutledge Hall's code of conduct: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe. Wednesday morning was devoted to learning and practicing expected behaviors inside and outside the school. I was impressed by how well our students did. We are certainly off to a great start!
Reading will begin next week. Our Houghton Miffliin series is broken down into themes. Each theme has several stories that focus on essential reading skills and strategies. Students will be tested bi-weekly on each story and skill learned.
